New currency : The RBI will introduce new currency notes for 100 Rs soon with the impression of Gujarat’s historic stepwell “Rani ki Vav”. This is a proud moment for the entire Gujarati community. The existing notes will continue to be in use. The new note is purple in colour and smaller in size compared to the existing notes and with additional security features. The ATMs have to be recalibrated to accommodate the new notes. The government of India is trying to put emphasis on our Cultural Heritage and so all the newly introduced currency notes bear the impressions of important heritage places; 50 Rs note with the motif of ‘Hampi with Chariot’ and 200 Rs note with ‘Sanchi Stupa’.
