A. Bhavnath Temple – Taleti
Bhavnath temple located in the foothills of Girnar is one of the holiest places in Junagadh. The exact time of the origin of this temple is unknown but it has been mentioned in various Puranas. It is believed that there was a time when Lord Shiva went for a stroll on Girnar Taleti with Devi Parvati and their divine garment fell at the place where the Mrigi Kund in the temple stands today. The temple is the starting point of the two most important festivals that take place in Junagadh – Mahashivratri fair and Parikrama. The Taleti is also one of the most sought-after places by tourists.
B. Jain Temples – Girnar
Situated at a height of 2370 ft and can be reached after climbing 3800 steps, the Jain temples are an important place for worship in both the sections of Jainism, the Digambara and the Svetambara. Neminath, the 22nd Tirthankara renounced the world and arrived at Girnar for attaining Moksha. There are a total of 16 Jain temples at this location. These Jain temples have magnificent architecture and should be on your must-watch list.
